Mansour Zabetian Speaks of “Belataklif” at Amol BookCity:

A Narrative of Twelve Days of Wandering Next Door; A Night for Travel, Smiles, and Books

Mansour Zabetian, the renowned journalist and writer, joined a gathering of literature and travel enthusiasts at Amol BookCity to unveil his latest work, Belataklif (In Limbo). The event marked a memorable night centered not only on literature but also on supporting patients battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

On the rainy evening of Thursday, December 4th (Azar 13)—coinciding with the first rainfall after a long period of drought in the country—Amol BookCity hosted Zabetian for an intimate review and launch of his new book. The ceremony was met with a warm and enthusiastic reception from the culture-loving people of Amol.

A Narrative of Wandering Next Door: Why “Belataklif”?

At the beginning of the session, Zabetian responded to audience questions regarding the title of his new book. He described Belataklif as the chronicle of a distinct journey to Turkey—a trip undertaken during a specific, volatile 12-day period of war and regional tension.

The author explained, “The title is a metaphor for the objective and mental state of travelers who experienced a sense of wandering and limbo under those specific conditions.” He went on to detail his observations of Turkish society during those critical days, answering audience questions about the behavioral sociology of the Turkish people, the reactions of drivers, the security situation, and the perspective of Iranian expatriates living in Turkey regarding these developments.

Zabetian also shared good news regarding his next travelogue, which is based on his journey to Warsaw, Poland. He announced that the book is currently in the preparation stages and is scheduled to hit the shelves after the Nowruz holidays.

A Benevolent Gesture for the MS Society

A distinctive and touching highlight of this cultural gathering was its socially responsible and charitable approach. By mutual agreement between Mansour Zabetian and the management of Amol BookCity, a portion of the event’s proceeds and voluntary contributions were donated to the “Amol County MS Patient Support Association.”

In line with this initiative, members of the association attended the ceremony as special guests and expressed their gratitude for this supportive cultural action.

Book Reading and Signing Ceremony

At the close of the ceremony, Mansour Zabetian read selected excerpts from Belataklif, drawing applause from the audience. This rainy, cultural evening concluded with a book signing, commemorative photos, and face-to-face conversations between the author and his readers.
