New Brain Club Titles Launched at Central BookCity

The latest titles in the Brain Club series from Mehrsa Publishing—an Iranian publisher specialising in educational books on the brain and cognition—were launched at Central BookCity in the presence of readers, researchers and members of the production team.

The five books presented at the event were My Brain’s Medications, My Child’s Brain, Brain Club 7, Attention and Concentration Club 5 and Intelligence and Creativity Club 3. The programme was hosted by Mr Safapour and attended by key members of the project, including its director, Dr Hamed Ekhtiari, a physician and neuroscience researcher, and Ms Heydari, the series editor.

Opening the event, Ekhtiari looked back at the development of Brain Club and its continuity over the past decade. He spoke of the project’s central role in giving direction and meaning to his own professional path, and recalled that the series had also held its first launch at Central BookCity.

One notable part of the discussion addressed the difficult conditions in which books were written and produced during wartime. Speakers explained how production continued even while some of the authors were outside Iran. Audience members joined the conversation with questions about the psychological dimensions of war and the ways in which it had shaped the books’ content.

The presentation of the new titles also examined their story-led educational approach. Samira Mokhtari, the series illustrator, described the challenges of creating images amid war and ceasefire. She explained that animal characters had been chosen deliberately to allow greater flexibility in the visual narrative, and said that lived experience had played an undeniable part in shaping the books’ designs.
