Kashan BookCity hosted the launch ceremony for Small Steps on a Great Path, a memoir and biographical account of Dr. Taghi Shamekhi, in the presence of a distinguished gathering of cultural figures, university professors, and academic administrators.
At a special event attended by prominent members of Iran’s academic and cultural communities, the book Small Steps on a Great Path was officially unveiled at Kashan BookCity. The volume presents a detailed and intimate account of the life, experiences, and activities of Dr. Taghi Shamekhi during the years preceding the 1979 Iranian Revolution.
BookCity is a nationwide network of cultural bookstores in Iran that regularly hosts literary events, book launches, lectures, and public discussions. The organization plays an important role in promoting reading culture and fostering dialogue between writers, scholars, publishers, and the public.
Dr. Taghi Shamekhi is a distinguished professor of Natural Resources at the University of Tehran and a former President of the University of Kashan, a position he held during the 1990s. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the scientific and academic development of Kashan and for his role in strengthening the university’s educational and research capacities.
Speakers at the ceremony included Dr. Hassan Daghigh, former President of the University of Kashan, and Dr. Behzad Soltani, the university’s current President. In their remarks, they paid tribute to Dr. Shamekhi’s scholarly achievements and highlighted the qualities that have defined his career, including his deep commitment to academic excellence, humility, and sincerity.
The speakers also emphasized Dr. Shamekhi’s comprehensive approach to environmental and natural-resource issues, as well as his pivotal role in the development of the scientific infrastructure and institutional growth of the University of Kashan. Participants described his legacy as one that continues to influence generations of students, researchers, and university leaders.
Small Steps on a Great Path has been published by Farhang-e Saba Publications and is now available to readers, researchers, and book enthusiasts across Iran.
